An employer in Houston, Tx is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their team to focus on the network architecture, security, cloud technologies, and storage solutions. This role requires hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, AWS cloud services, Citrix (including Netscaler ADC), vCenter, Veeam for backup and disaster recovery, HP Storage Solutions (e.g., HP 3PAR, HP StoreOnce), Nimble Storage, YAML for configuration management, and SD-WAN solutions. This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network and storage infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and scalability for their enterprise environment. On a day to day basis this person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. They will manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls to secure network traffic and protect against security threats, and work in their AWS cloud environment (and Azure cloud) to manage and scale resources, including VPCs, EC2 instances, RDS, and other AWS services. In addition this person will administer and troubleshoot Citrix Netscaler ADC for load balancing, application delivery, and secure access solutions and manage and maintain vCenter for virtual machine management, resource allocation, and monitoring. They will utilize Veeam for backup and disaster recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability and leverage HP Storage Solutions (e.g., HP 3PAR, HP StoreOnce) and Nimble Storage for high-performance and scalable storage solutions, including backups, data archiving, and disaster recovery. Additionally, they will leverage SD-WAN technologies for improved network performance, efficiency, and cost optimization across WAN connections. This person will implement and automate network and storage configurations using YAML for repeatable and consistent deployments and implement and enforce network security best practices, including intrusion detection, VPNs, and firewall configurations. They must perform regular network performance analysis and optimize routing protocols, switching, and bandwidth allocation and provide support for troubleshooting complex network issues, including packet analysis and firewall configurations. Collaboration with other teams (system admins, cloud engineers, etc.) to support integrated solutions and maintain high availability is necessary. Lastly, they must prepare and maintain documentation related to network configurations, security policies, storage systems, and system architecture and stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and network security practices to continuously improve our network and storage infrastructure.

5+ years of experience in network engineering, with expertise in network design, management, and troubleshooting.
In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting, and security policies.
Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, and other cloud-based networking solutions.
Experience with Citrix Netscaler ADC for application delivery, load balancing, and security optimization.
Solid understanding of VMware vCenter, including VM management, resource allocation, and troubleshooting.
Strong experience with HP Storage Solutions (e.g., HP 3PAR, HP StoreOnce) and Nimble Storage for enterprise storage, including data backup, archiving, and disaster recovery.
Strong knowledge of SD-WAN technologies for optimizing WAN performance, security, and scalability.
Proficiency in YAML for automation, configuration management, and cloud/network deployment automation.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching (VLAN, STP).
Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN) and network security best practices.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex network and storage issues.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable with travel (primarily North America 3x a year, UK/Egypt once a year)
