Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco routing technologies to join a small, highly autonomous engineering team. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient engineer who enjoys solving complex routing challenges, operating independently, and supporting core network changes in a stable, non–on-call environment.
The engineer will work closely with a senior leader and focus primarily on routing remediation, optimization, and post-implementation support rather than large, project-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities include:
-Serving as a senior-level routing expert responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex Cisco-based routing issues across the environment.
-Perform cleanup, optimization, and stabilization of existing routing configurations (not project-specific work)
-Support and sustain core network changes after implementation, ensuring long-term stability and performance
-Collaborate with a small engineering team (1–2 additional engineers) while remaining comfortable working independently
-Provide technical guidance and high-level network insight to support ongoing infrastructure improvements
-Participate in limited operational support as needed (this is not an operations-heavy role)
-Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
-10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise environments
-Deep, hands-on expertise in routing-heavy Cisco networks
-CCIE certification (active or previously held)
-Proven experience supporting and integrating network infrastructure within cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with network automation, particularly Cisco DNA Center
-Experience with Open-source automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or similar — tool-agnostic mindset preferred)
-Exposure to modern network programmability or infrastructure-as-code concepts
