Job Description

· Driving the modernization of the enterprise data management strategy across all business divisions while laying the foundation for enterprise-wide data governance
· Responsible for ownership and oversight of the organization's data warehouses, including establishing governance standards and controls
· Conducting root cause analysis to identify and understand data discrepancies across various business areas and systems
· Identifying process-related gaps and inefficiencies that contribute to data quality issues
· Partnering closely with business stakeholders to address and eliminate underlying process and data issues
· Developing data dictionaries and collaborating with both Business and IT teams to perform extensive data mapping and data lineage analysis
· Driving efforts from issue identification through remediation to ensure long-term data integrity and consistency

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data quality, and data governance initiatives
• Strong expertise in data profiling, data integration validation, and data quality assessments
• Experience supporting and maintaining curated datasets used for business intelligence and analytics reporting
• Strong data governance background with a deep understanding of both the strategic importance of governance and its day-to-day business impact
• Hands-on experience owning and driving data governance functions, processes, and best practices
• Ability to champion governance initiatives and promote data stewardship across the organization
• Strong SQL proficiency with experience working in relational databases and cloud-based data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Experience utilizing enterprise data governance and metadata management tools, including platforms such as Alation, Collibra, or similar solutions
• Experience validating ETL/ELT processes, reconciling data outputs, and documenting data transformations and business logic
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working with Snowflake for data warehousing, data management, and analytics initiatives
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis, automation, and process optimization
• Hands-on experience with Alation for data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and methodologies, including designing and maintaining scalable data structures
• Experience leveraging Tableau or similar BI and data visualization platforms to deliver actionable insights and support business decision-making
• Experience working within regulated industries such as utilities, energy, financial services, or healthcare
