Job Description

Position Overview: We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Presby Center. This role is essential in delivering high-quality infusion services to oncology patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of infusion experience, preferably in oncology, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Workflow:

Support a team of 8 providers and 2 Nurse Practitioners, alongside the radiation department and GenOnc.
Manage a 36-chair infusion suite, serving 70–90 patients daily.
Collaborate with a team of 6 nurses, each typically seeing 9–11 patients per day.
Administer injections, infusions (including non-chemo), hematology treatments, iron, and other IV therapies.
Therapy Administration:

Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.
Ensure accurate administration of all medications and blood products, following correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.
Confirm pre-authorizations and consent forms are completed prior to treatment when applicable.
Patient Assessment & Education:

Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
Monitor labs, consult protocols, calculate doses, and collaborate with physicians on dose modifications and symptom management.
Technical Skills:

Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care and treatments.
Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and ensure proper charge capture.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 1 year of infusion experience (oncology preferred).
3+ years of total RN experience strongly preferred; candidates with 2 years will be considered.
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate preferred; OCN certification is a major plus but not required.
Outpatient experience preferred.
No pediatric experience required.
