Job Description

An engineering client in the Dallas Fort Worth Area is seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will equally split their time between field assessments and office work, providing our clients with retro-commissioning services, design options, and energy-saving recommendations. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, client relations, assessments, inspection, and reporting due to compliance. The ideal candidate is a MEhanical Engineer by trade who is interested in client relations, field based work, and providing solutions for energy efficiency.
Field Assessments (50%):
o Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, including roofing and mechanical systems.
o Perform assessments during construction, ensuring compliance with city requirements and green energy standards.
o Check and verify the service status and safety of equipment, such as chillers, boilers, HVAC systems, heat pumps, rooftop units, and insulation.
o Look up manufacturer information and ensure that all systems are up-to-date and meet safety standards.
o Travel within Texas and Oklahoma (5-10% travel) for assessments, with all travel expenses paid for.
Office Work (50%):
o Develop detailed reports and provide clients with a current condition of their property.
o Offer design options to help clients update their systems to use less energy and save money.
o Use CAD and mechanical software to assist in design work as needed.
o Coordinate with third-party energy and green energy inspection services.
o Manage client relations, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
o Collaborate with internal teams or pass off projects to design/mechanical teams as required.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/design
o Plumbing, HVAC, commercial construction, MEP
- BS, Mechanical Engineering degree

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- CEI, ICC, IGCC, CGCP
- Engineering in training or passed FE exam
- Professional Engineer license
- Business development experience
