Job Description

We are seeking a high-energy Cost Accounting Manager with exceptional attention to detail to lead cost and inventory functions within our accounting team. This role is critical to the company's growth and will support month-end close, budgeting, and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational and financial improvements.



Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Inventory Management



Own all manufacturing cost accounting activities: month-end close, labor & overhead absorption, freight/duty tracking

Manage production and R&D inventory

Perform variance analyses (e.g., purchase price, cost revaluation, invoice-to-PO, work order)

Monitor and improve cycle count processes and inventory accuracy

Ensure ERP system accuracy and lead enhancements to support scaling

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Build relationships with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and FP&A

Partner with FP&A and Engineering to ensure Bill of Materials accuracy and assess cost reduction impacts

Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly budget vs. actual analysis

Maintain strong communication across departments

Process Improvement & Controls



Develop and implement cost accounting processes and improvements

Drive operational efficiencies in labor and overhead burden

Support audit and internal controls compliance

Prepare accounting schedules for internal and external reporting

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or R&D

Strong cost accounting background (visible in job titles)

Experience managing inventory in a production environment

Deep understanding of manufacturing principles, supply chain, and inventory flow

Ability to analyze ERP data and communicate findings effectively

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities

Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

CPA or working toward certification

MBA or advanced degree

Public accounting experience

Supervisory experience

Financial reporting experience

ERP systems expertise
