Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support large-scale data center programs through technical coordination, project execution planning, stakeholder leadership, project controls collaboration, and program delivery support.
This individual will serve as a key resource across project management, scheduling, procurement, design coordination, commissioning, and turnover planning activities. The Senior Project Engineer will partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Scheduling teams, Project Controls teams, Design Consultants, Vendors, and Client Stakeholders to ensure program objectives are effectively coordinated and delivered.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting highly complex technical infrastructure programs, possesses strong project delivery expertise, and can function as a trusted advisor to project leadership while mentoring junior team members.
This is an office-based position focused on planning, coordination, reporting, documentation management, stakeholder engagement, and program execution support.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Coordination
Lead coordination efforts across multiple project workstreams and stakeholders.
Partner closely with project leadership to support execution planning and milestone achievement.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among design, procurement, scheduling, project controls, commissioning, and vendor teams.
Support strategic planning initiatives and program-level coordination activities.
Assist leadership teams with project forecasting, risk identification, and decision-making support.
Mentor and develop junior project engineers and project coordinators.
Engineering & Technical Coordination
Coordinate review and management of project documentation, design packages, RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and stakeholder deliverables.
Support interdisciplinary coordination activities involving electrical, mechanical, controls, telecommunications, and technology infrastructure systems.
Facilitate resolution of technical conflicts and project coordination challenges.
Support design reviews and integration planning activities.
Schedule & Project Controls Integration
Partner with Scheduling and Project Controls teams to support schedule validation, milestone planning, forecasting, and reporting.
Assist leadership teams in evaluating schedule risks, constraints, and recovery opportunities.
Review milestone tracking reports, critical path updates, and project performance metrics.
Support development of executive reporting packages and project dashboards.
Coordinate planning inputs related to procurement, commissioning, and turnover activities.
Procurement & Long-Lead Equipment Coordination
Support project planning associated with critical infrastructure equipment and vendor deliverables.
Coordinate procurement tracking and milestone management for long-lead equipment.
Monitor approval timelines, manufacturing milestones, factory testing activities, logistics planning, and equipment readiness milestones.
Identify potential risks and support mitigation planning efforts.
Commissioning & Turnover Planning
Coordinate commissioning readiness, startup planning, integrated systems testing activities, and turnover deliverables.
Partner with commissioning teams, vendors, project controls, and project leadership to support milestone achievement.
Monitor completion of turnover documentation and operational readiness requirements.
Support project closeout planning and final documentation management.
Reporting & Executive Communication
Develop executive summaries, project updates, milestone reports, and risk assessments.
Communicate project status, coordination issues, schedule impacts, procurement risks, and planning concerns to leadership.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and support program-level reporting requirements.
Provide leadership teams with data-driven decision support and project insights.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of project engineering, project management, project controls, or program delivery experience.
Experience supporting large-scale technical infrastructure programs valued at $100M+.
Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, utility infrastructure, healthcare, or similarly complex programs.
Strong understanding of project delivery, document management, procurement coordination, scheduling, commissioning, and turnover planning.
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across complex technical workstreams.
Experience reviewing project schedules, milestone reports, procurement plans, and project controls deliverables.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven leadership and mentorship experience.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Direct hyperscale or enterprise data center experience.
Experience supporting programs valued at $250M-$1B+.
Experience working with Primavera P6, Primavera Cloud, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or project controls reporting platforms.
Experience with BIM/VDC coordination tools, including Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Revizto, or Navisworks.
Familiarity with commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and mission-critical turnover processes.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related discipline.
PMP, CCM, PSP, or similar industry certification.
