Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Platform Engineer for a top technology-driven internal platforms and automation client. This individual will design and build scalable backend services, data pipelines, and AI-enabled systems that power internal tools and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong Python engineer who enjoys working across backend development, data engineering, and intelligent system integration. This role offers the opportunity to influence platform architecture, contribute to AI-powered workflows, and grow into a senior-level engineering position while working on impactful internal systems.
Day to Day -
Build and maintain backend APIs and internal services using Python
Develop and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines
Integrate AI/ML and LLM-driven features into internal platforms
Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and AI teams
Improve system reliability through testing, monitoring, and observability
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and documentation
Enhance shared tooling, libraries, and internal developer platforms

Required Skills & Experience
Strong Python development experience (backend & data workflows)
Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Uvicorn, and Pydantic v2
Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
Solid SQL skills with Postgres
Experience working with pandas and structured/unstructured data
Familiarity with Azure services (deployment, storage, or orchestration)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing, and observability practices
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and AI teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM-based features
Exposure to Fabric for data ingestion and processing
Knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring
Experience with pytest, Ruff, pre-commit, Hatch, or Makefile
Background in data platform or internal tools development
Interest in automation, analytics, and intelligent systems
