Job Description

What to Expect
The Senior Ergonomist will be part of the EHS Engineering team, supporting multiple manufacturing facilities within close proximity. This role will help implement and continuously improve ergonomics and other EHS initiatives/programs within the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System.
This individual will influence both current and future manufacturing systems by applying advanced risk assessment tools and demonstrating strong understanding of job design (function allocation). They must be able to communicate recommendations clearly and concisely to employees at all levels.
The Ergonomist will support change management, promote feedback loops within work systems, design solutions that accommodate a wide range of people, and advocate for fatigue management. Occasionally, they will develop and deliver training for EHS team members and other personnel.

What You’ll Do
• Manage ergonomics programs across multiple products and stages (design, installation, production)
• Identify and solve high-impact safety risks while partnering with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Quality, etc.)
• Drive workplace and design improvements focused on how people interact with tasks
• Conduct physical task measurements (e.g., time, force, movement) and ensure alignment with ergonomic standards
• Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, equipment, and work environments to prevent injuries
• Train and mentor others on ergonomics and safety design
• Support EHS KPI compliance in assigned areas
• Participate in (and sometimes lead) incident investigations and implement corrective actions

Required Skills & Experience

What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, or similar experience
• AEP certification (or similar) preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years leading ergonomic programs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and proactively improve safety systems
• Strong communication skills across all levels (frontline to leadership)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and ergonomics tools (e.g., digital human modeling)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
