Insight Global is looking to hire an Automation Specialist II in Midland, Texas. This is a standard automation maintenance technician role. One weekend per month this person will be on call, and fixing automation and electrical equipment as needed. will monitor and repair automation and electrical equipment for upstream onshore oil and gas operations. They will provide on-site automation support, serve as a technical resource for facility control systems and field instrumentation, and ensure maintenance activities comply with industry standards. The role involves following PLC programming practices, identifying improvement opportunities in instrumentation and control systems, and using CMMS like SAP for maintenance operations. Candidates need 5+ years of oil field experience, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to train in the TX Delaware field.

2 year Instrumentation or Automation technology degree with a GPA of 2.5 or higher (or foreign equivalent), or equivalent technical working experience with a good track record of safety.
3+ years' experience working as an Automation Specialist.
3+ years of Oil Field experience.
Advanced knowledge of well RTU designs, programming and troubleshooting.
Advanced knowledge of analog and discrete instrumentation, and various serial and ethernet communications protocols.
Advanced knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.).
Intermediate knowledge of maintaining PLC programs in function block, ladder logic, and structured text.
Intermediate knowledge of maintaining local HMI operator interfaces.
