Job Description

The role and responsibilities of a Construction Project Superintendent involve overseeing and managing the construction project from start to finish. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role:

· Project Planning: The Construction Project Superintendent is involved in the initial project planning phase. They work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand the project requirements, review construction documents, and develop a detailed construction plan.

· On-Site Supervision: The superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site activities. This includes overseeing the work of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction.

· Quality Control: The superintendent is responsible for maintaining high-quality standards throughout the construction process. They conduct regular inspections to ensure that work meets the specified quality requirements and adheres to industry standards and codes.

· Schedule Management: The superintendent plays a critical role in managing the project schedule. They develop and maintain a construction schedule, coordinate the sequencing of activities, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of the project.

· Resource Management: The superintendent oversees the allocation and management of resources on the construction site. This includes managing labor, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

· Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication is essential for a Construction Project Superintendent. They must liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors, to provide regular project updates, address concerns, and ensure smooth coordination among all parties involved.

· Safety and Risk Management: The superintendent is responsible for implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures on the construction site. They identify potential risks and hazards, conduct regular safety inspections, and take corrective measures to ensure a safe working environment.

· Problem Solving: Construction projects often encounter unforeseen challenges. The superintendent plays a key role in problem-solving, identifying solutions, and making informed decisions to overcome obstacles and keep the project on track.

· Documentation and Reporting: The superintendent maintains accurate and detailed records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders. They also provide regular reports to project managers and stakeholders regarding project status, budget, and any issues that may impact the project's timeline or cost.

Required Skills & Experience

· Related experience in general construction or commercial background (residential is not applicable)

* Oil & Gas is acceptable too

· Heavily civil and foundation work with understand of MEP - underground utilities

· Experience contributing

· Be familiar with NEC70 codes

· OSHA 30 Certification

· Familiarity with Microsoft applications

· Good communication

Ability to multi-task
