Job Description

Salary range: $100,000 - $140,000.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Program / Project Manager to join our Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team in either our Houston or Austin office. This role offers a great career-growth opportunity for an energetic individual who can effectively manage environmental projects and coach/mentor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide program/project management and technical support to ecology and environmental permitting projects and proposals.
Propose, plan, execute, and manage projects of varying complexity with multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborate with clients in Texas/Oklahoma and engage in proposal preparation (scoping and pricing).
Manage projects with a breakdown of 60% project management, 20% mentoring/coaching staff, and 20% business growth.
Handle permitting processes, including field data collection, organization, and submission for permits or proposals.
Maintain familiarity with state and federal regulations and agencies, including:
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Experience with: SPCC, SWPPP, permitting delineation, endangered species reports.
Focus areas: Agency-driven, Army Corps, NEPA, Fish and Wildlife, TCEQ, CEQA, local permitting, federally funded projects, NEPA rules, EP&P side, Fish and Wildlife, Waters of the US, wetlands.
Additional Information
Position is anticipated to be 80% office work / 20% field work.
Some travel (local/overnight) may be required.
Onsite presence: 3-4 days a week in the office, with some field work as needed.
Connectivity to clients and ability to deliver business to the group is beneficial.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Biology, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy, Geology, or related field;
Minimum 6 years of related experience, including 3-4 years of project-related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Applicable experience in Texas and knowledge of Texass threatened and endangered species, ecosystems, and vegetation preferred.
Strong technical writing and QA/QC skills.
Ability to effectively manage and deliver proposals and reports.
Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and engage directly with staff and leadership.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Masters degree preferred.
Certification in wetlands and endangered species is a plus.
