Job Description
Own and manage the complete document control lifecycle, including document intake, formatting, distribution, tracking, filing, retention, and archiving.
Coordinate the processing and distribution of RFIs, submittals, transmittals, drawings, specifications, reports, and project deliverables.
Maintain and organize documentation within Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), ensuring accurate metadata, records, and document placeholders.
Compile and package engineering, design, construction, and turnover documentation in accordance with project requirements.
Initiate, monitor, and expedite document review workflows, proactively engaging stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.
Conduct quality assurance reviews on project documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
Prepare and distribute transmittals, document packages, and information exchanges to clients, contractors, and project teams.
Maintain document registers, distribution logs, workflow trackers, and project records with a high degree of accuracy.
Develop and distribute reporting metrics related to RFIs, submittals, document status, review cycles, and workflow performance.
Provide coverage and support for other Document Controllers during planned and unplanned absences.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
7-10 years of document control experience supporting EPC, engineering, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Experience supporting large-scale, multidisciplinary projects, including mega-projects valued at $1B+.
Demonstrated success managing large document repositories containing 10,000+ records while maintaining data integrity.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly within Excel.
Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise-level EDMS platform.
Strong knowledge of document control methodologies, revision management, records retention, and compliance requirements.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and SharePoint.
Familiarity with Procore, ProjectWise, OpenText, and Bluebeam Revu/Studio.
Basic automation or scripting experience using PowerShell, VBA, or similar tools.
