Job Description
This RN functions as a dedicated clinical support partner for one of the busiest Medical Doctors on the floor. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the physician can operate efficiently by managing patient flow, coordinating care, and handling clinical tasks that allow the MD to focus on diagnosis and treatment. Key duties typically include:
• Supports a high‑volume physician schedule (about 40–50 patients/day) and keeps clinic flow running smoothly.
• Works mostly as a care coordinator, not a heavy skills‑based RN.
• Sits at the desk with the physician when not in exam rooms, managing charts, orders, and follow‑ups.
• Reviews chemo and treatment orders to ensure everything is entered and ready for the visit.
• Contacts patients for updates, symptom checks, education, and next steps.
• Triages patient messages and communicates updates between the physician, infusion, MAs, and scheduling.
• Ensures the doctor has labs, imaging, and reports needed for each visit.
Communication is the core of the role—fast, clear, and proactive.
