Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Instrumentation and Controls Technician to work on site in Austin, TX and support the strategy and introduction of products based on unique and highly differentiated capabilities of a foundry for semiconductor microsystems and defense electronics companies. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor devices including logic, memory, 3D packaged devices, including thermal management, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transducers, and control systems across semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation systems including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA interfaces.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Support the integration of new tools and technologies into existing manufacturing lines, including logic and memory device fabrication.
Configure and tune PID control loops for temperature, pressure, flow, and other process variables.
Assist in the design and implementation of control strategies for complex semiconductor processes.
Monitor system performance and analyze data to identify inefficiencies or potential failures.
Collaborate with process engineers to optimize equipment performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain detailed documentation of instrumentation configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards for cleanroom and high-tech manufacturing environments.
Participate in commissioning and startup activities for new equipment and process lines.
Provide technical training and support to operations and maintenance personnel.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls, preferably in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing.
Proficiency with PLC programming, industrial networking, and control system integration.
Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and semiconductor fabrication processes.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals.
Experience with data acquisition systems and industrial automation platforms.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
