Develop building and fire code compliance documents and fire life safety designs
for new production lines / materials and other improvement in the facility.
Perform hazardous material analysis for code compliances purposes, such as chemical classification, chemical quantity analysis, chemical inventory management, and related system design support
Create permit documents for site projects for chemical hazmat analysis, dust hazard analysis, High piled combustible storage analysis and specifications
Develop & create fire protection system design criteria for new production lines /materials and other improvements in the facility
Review and comment on shop drawing design packages developed by contractors
Support Fire Protection team and other team members to develop AM&M (Alternate
Means & Methods) to local AHJ to help with performance-based design criteria to meet intent of code
Coordinate with various disciplines including process safety and EHS teams during the design process
Support construction team to develop field solutions
Develop process improvements / workflows / templates to increase design productivity and quality of deliverables

Licensed Fire Protection Engineer (TX license required, or able to obtain
reciprocity) or EIT
Minimum 5 years of related experience
Bachelors or masters degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge in NFPA standards and model codes (e.g. ICC codes) related to
building fire safety and able to interpret the NFPA code standards
Advanced knowledge in hazardous materials evaluation for code compliances
Experiences with fire suppression system and fire detection/alarm system designs
and inspection
Experiences with AutoCAD and Revit
Ability to work cross-functionally and with large teams
Ability to work well under pressure and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong communication skills to explain complex technical challenges and solutionsclearly and concisely
