Salary: $150,000 (flexible for the right candidate)
Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in water and wastewater systems, strong technical project management, and design skills. Experience with the City of Austin is preferred. This role offers significant career advancement opportunities and involves close collaboration with all levels of management and technical staff within the Public Works/Water Resources Department. The Project Manager will coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
Desired Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with a strong focus on design (80% design, 20% project management). The design responsibilities include reviewing junior staff work, advising and stamping drawings, managing design teams, and providing direction on projects.
Responsibilities:
Design and Documentation: Develop project design concepts and criteria, organize project information and records systems, and design and prepare working drawings and related project documents.
Project Management: Provide recommendations on design alternatives, assist in proposal preparation, and oversee the production of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for public infrastructure improvement projects.
Client and Team Coordination: Serve as Project Manager on multiple public works projects, managing client relationships, project budgets, and schedules, while ensuring quality assurance and control for deliverables, including proposals. Coordinate regularly with project design team members, subconsultants, clients, stakeholders, contractors, and permit agency representatives.
Leadership: Coach, motivate, and lead the design team. Cultivate strong client relationships, attend engineering and industry events and conferences, and effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks, managing time wisely.
Problem-Solving: Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of forecasting and initiating project management tasks, working independently while collaborating when necessary, and proactively resolving conflicts that arise during projects.

Required Skills & Experience

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
Licensure: Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.
Experience: 8+ years in engineering and design, focusing on public works, roadway, drainage, and utility design.
Knowledge: Familiarity with local municipalities, counties, and TxDOT design procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in industry software, including water wastewater design, Stormwater Design, 3D software, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
