A large hospital system is hiring an AVP/Regional Technology Officer in Austin, TX. This person will join the team of 7 regional CIOs and report directly to the Chief Market Technology Officer. This person will have 3 Market leader Direct Reports including the Field Service Direction, Direction of Informatics, and Strategic Delivery Director. They will work closely with the Market CEO to solve problems, explore opportunity, create and design strategic technology goals for the market hospitals and clinics in their area.
Develop and sustain strong relationships with market executives in order to be a consultative partner on all technology topics while articulating short and long term operational implications and trade-offs on technology decisions.
Develop and sustain strong relationships with Ascension Technologies leaders in order to influence change through articulating operational impact of technology challenges and opportunities.
Develop a deep understanding of the markets way of working plus the larger technology landscape in order to shape and influence the markets vision for technology.
Serve as the executive point for the delivery of all market technology needs and lead your team in comprehensive organization and oversight of the market technology portfolio.
Actively partner with the market in technology ideation, decision making and prioritization including clear articulation of anticipated business return.
Be an advocate for market needs within the larger organization while integrating with the systems technology standards and roadmaps.
Initiate and lead market teams through change by communicating a compelling case for change.
Manage a cross-functional market-based technology operations team.

5+ years leadership experience in a large complex healthcare technology system (AVP of Technology, Market CIO, Regional CIO/CTO, etc.) experience including leading market leaders. (Not interested in Healthcare Operations background)
Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.
Track record of successfully working with customers to implement large-scale, complex technology systems (e.g., EHR, ERP platform) while minimizing disruption to clinical/business processes.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizations - including experience working with a centralized technology organization - while building consensus on priorities.
Remarkable ability to solve complex problems while representing the voice of the customer combined with proven track record of recognizing when to escalate challenges based on potential impact or political sensitivity.
Competence in persuasion, negotiation and influence in all types of settings; ability to serve as the advocate for both business partners and the technology community.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a record of building trust-based relationships with executive leaders, counseling them on broad ranging technology-related topics.
Experience leading cross-functional technology teams with a track record of hiring, leading, and grooming high performance teams.
Demonstrated metrics-driven approach to IT delivery and experience developing technology business cases.
Master's degree preferred.
