Insight Global is hiring for Laborers to join a project in Portland, TN with a multi-utility construction company. The company provides a wide range of services to support large-scale utility operations across the Unites States. This position will be on-site for 6-12 months ranging between $18-25/hr based off years of experience.
In this position, you will be expected to support construction operations by assisting in loading and unloading equipment, supplies, and earthen materials and physically demanding construction labor. Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Dig and clean up soil, sand, and gravel using a hand shovel.
- Load and unload materials properly.
- Operate ground compactors, level and rake dirt.
- Set up fencing, barricades, and safety cones as needed.
- Pour and finish concrete.
- Remove and replace sewer/manhole castings and covers.
- Assist in daily pre-shift safety inspections
- Support Foreman in all construction activities.
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports.
- Follow safe digging instructions within project scope.
- Attend all safety meetings and training courses.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 vision (corrective lenses if needed).
- Ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions.
- Endure prolonged lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Stand for long periods (up to 14 hours).
- Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination.
Adhere to all established safety and OSHA regulations.

- Professional interaction with the public, supervisors, and coworkers

- Ability to understand directions in English for safety

- Valid Drivers License
- PPE: Need to have steel-toed shoes - other equipment will be provided by company
