Job Description
o Engineers in this role will contribute to the design, analysis, and execution of structural systems for a variety of nuclear and industrial infrastructure projects. Daily responsibilities include performing advanced structural calculations, developing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Candidates will work closely with project managers, field engineers, and construction teams to support the full lifecycle of design and construction efforts. This includes hands-on involvement in steel and concrete design, finite element modeling, and coordination with craftspeople and field personnel. The role requires a high level of technical rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. All work is performed on-site in Oak Ridge, TN, due to the sensitive nature of the projects and the need for close team collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10–20 years of experience as a structural engineer
- Recent experience acting as an SE in a nuclear environment
- Experience and familiarity with NQA1 standards
- PE or SE license
- Expertise in STAAD.Pro and/or SAP2000
- Familiarity with seismic codes: ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ACI 349, AISC N690, DOE-STD-1020
- Ability to work on-site in Oak Ridge, TN
- Ability to obtain a DOE clearance
- Sole U.S. Citizenship (CUI requirement)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Member of nuclear code committees (ASCE, ACI, AISC)
- DOE Q clearance
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation
- Master’s in Civil Engineering
- Field experience: poured concrete, structural steel, working with craftspeople
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
