Job Description
Project: Support the Small Nuclear Reactors project projected to be completed and providing power to the grid by mid-2028 at Idaho Falls National Lab.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and full documentation for assigned systems
• Collaborate directly with clients and internal engineering disciplines to develop compliant solutions
• Apply DOE and NRC requirements, including seismic design criteria for nuclear facilities
• Support project estimating, scheduling, and cost tracking efforts
• Execute work in compliance with quality procedures and NQA 1 requirements

Required Skills & Experience
• Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance
• B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• 8+ years of post education structural engineering experience
• Strong design capability in steel, concrete, and masonry, with emphasis on seismic design
• Experience applying IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI over multiple code cycles (understand code changes with different versions)
• Proficient user of finite element analysis tools (software not required - STAAD.Pro or equivalent)
• Proficient with MathCAD (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to learn and adopt new software tools as project needs evolve
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Active PE license with ability to obtain additional state licensure as required
