Job Description

A client is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Research Nurse to support oncology clinical trials in an outpatient setting. This role is responsible for coordinating patient participation in clinical studies from screening through follow-up while ensuring strict adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements.
On a day-to-day basis, this individual will work closely with providers and research teams to enroll eligible patients, coordinate study visits, and monitor progress throughout the trial. Responsibilities include patient education, clinical documentation, tracking outcomes and adverse events, and ensuring all activities are completed in compliance with established guidelines.
This role is ideal for a nurse with oncology experience who is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in transitioning into or growing within clinical research. Depending on the site, the position may involve working independently or as part of a larger team.

Required Skills & Experience

- Active RN license
- 1+ year of oncology nursing experience
- Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to follow structured protocols and workflows

Soft skills:
- Flexibility to adapt across different clinic environments
- Team-oriented but also comfortable working independently
- Strong communication skills with patients and providers
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Comfortable working in roles that may vary by location

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Prior clinical research experience (any exposure to trials, studies, or data collection)
- Experience in outpatient or oncology clinic settings
- Ability to work independently (especially for smaller or standalone sites)
- Familiarity with:
Clinical trial processes
Regulatory or compliance-driven environments

- Interest in clinical research career growth
- OCN certification or willingness to obtain (reimbursed)
