Job Description

A client in the Nashville, TN area is looking for a Remote Principal Engineer to join their team. This resource will be reporting into the CTO and will be working alongside one other Staff/Principal Engineer that is overseeing the Cloud Technologies. As the Principal Engineer, you will be working with the product team to understand the product space, how they process data sets, and you'll handle reconciliations and calculations of those data sets. The team ingests 30 discreet data sources that cut across the wealth space. You'll be working with the data engineer team that consists of 6 team members, and take on some mentorship responsibilities to help modernize how they ingest data, oversee best observability practices, test practices, etc. to help put best modernization practices in place. This team is going through a major growth and transformation phase with their technology, so as a Principal Engineer you'll need to wear a lot of different hats and be hands on in all phases of the SDLC to work cross functionally and cut across multiple groups to be involved in all areas of the design, development, testing, deployment and support of these applications and services. This team is also getting moved into AWS so it's important that this resource has experience working within AWS and has architected and built event driven architecture using python, or has worked with event driven architecture around AWS to bring knowledge as they continue to move to that cloud platform.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience

- Strong AWS

- Experience working in a financial or fintech industry

- Experience working with Event Driven Architecture around AWS or experience building microservices around AWS (Lambda, Kafka, ETL Service Architecture, AWS glue, or kinesis, etc.)

- Full SDLC experience (designing, developing, testing, deploying)

- Python

- Strong C#, .Net

- Client facing ability- strong communication and experience working with business stakeholders

- Big data experience

- Understanding of ETL workflows

- Open to travel to Nashville, TN once a quarter
