The Financial Counselor is dedicated to follow through of guidelines for financial counseling, insurance assistance, and collection practices for all medically necessary services while ensuring access for all patients.
Essential Functions:
- Running Daily Schedules for consults, new/added procedures
- Completing VOB and cost estimates with insurance
- Applying for financial assistance
- Applying for Medicaid/Medicaid
- Coordinate with Early out collections partner for payment plan and payment financing options
- Work closely with other Onsite Financial Counselors, Patient Navigators, front office staff and clinical staff to ensure smooth collection process.
- Maintain month Key performance indicators establish both individually and in team setting.
- Deliver monthly KPI's to manager on time for prior month.
- Will touch 25-50 patient accounts a day

-2+ years of experience working in a medical office setting working with medical insurance and financial matters
-Ability to explain cost of treatments, insurance coverage, and patient financial responsibility (financial advocacy)
-Must be able to explain/differentiate between set commercial rate vs. Medicare/Medi-cal allowable
-Oncology or specialty experience (pharm tech, urology, GI etc.)
