One of Insight Global's premier engineering consulting clients is looking for Construction Materials Field Technicians to join their team in Nashville, TN. This person will be joining a large team of Technicians within the Materials Department who are entrusted to solve construction-related challenges. Daily, this person's responsibilities will involve performing critical materials testing and observation and inspection services on construction projects. Critical testing and inspections may include field or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt as well as field observations and inspections for foundations, reinforcing steel, masonry, and structural steel. Additionally, this person will need to provide documentation of results and findings to clients and industry partners. Some projects this person may work on include roadways, bridges, airports, large commercial developments, wind farms, solar farms, healthcare, K-12 schools, higher education facilities, and more.
Day to Day:
o Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures. (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
o Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
o Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
o Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM- (anything regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.)
o Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
o Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
o Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
o Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
o Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
