Job Description
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of a commercial operations business unit. This individual drives revenue growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement while ensuring the organization meets its strategic and financial objectives. The General Manager provides leadership across sales, operations, customer service, and administration while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all day-to-day business operations, ensuring efficient and profitable performance.
Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
Maintain full accountability for branch/location P&L performance, budgeting, and forecasting.
Build, lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams across sales and operations.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement action plans to improve results.
Ensure operational processes are executed efficiently and consistently.
Collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities and expand market share.
Drive customer satisfaction through high-quality service and responsiveness.
Promote a culture focused on safety, compliance, employee development, and accountability.
Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching, and succession planning efforts.
Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
7+ years of leadership experience in commercial operations, distribution, construction, manufacturing, building products, or a related industry.
Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibilities and achieving financial targets.
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Experience managing sales, operations, and customer-facing teams.
Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management systems.
