Job Description
A client in the Nashville, TN area is seeking a Community & Belonging Operations Specialist. In this role, you’ll operate as the backbone of the team’s day-to-day community engagement and philanthropy programs, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes for the leaders supporting all of the main employee wellness, philanthropy and grantmaking programs at the company. A large portion of your time will be spent managing the DEED platform- creating and posting volunteer opportunities, supporting skill-based volunteering initiatives, and reviewing and approving employee gift-matching requests. You’ll also respond to employee questions, as you’ll be monitoring a shared inbox that fields a high volume of inquiries related to volunteering, donations, and program participation.
On the operations side, you’ll track and pull together monthly reporting on employee engagement efforts—like volunteer hours, event attendance, and grant funding—making sure everything is accurate and ready for leadership. You’ll help support grantmaking activities by processing payments, coordinating with finance, and conducting light research on nonprofit partners.
You’ll also play a key role in coordinating events and engagements. This might look like setting up volunteer opportunities in different offices, helping field nonprofit “lunch & learns,” or working with internal events teams to ensure logistics (space, catering, schedules) are handled. At the same time, you’ll support team leadership with administrative needs like scheduling meetings, managing calendars, taking notes, and keeping track of deadlines.
Throughout the day, you’ll be working closely with teams across the business and with external nonprofit partners—acting as a point of contact to ensure clear communication and follow-through. Overall, this role is a mix of program coordination, administrative support, and high-touch communication, and is best suited for someone who is extremely detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys keeping a lot of moving pieces on track.
