Job Description

A client in the Nashville, TN area is looking for an Insurance & Alternatives Accountant to join their Insurance Operations/Accounting team in Nashville, TN. This role focuses on GAAP and STAT accounting for alternative investment products, including regulatory reporting and full valuations of insurance client assets. The successful candidate will support a commercial loan mandate currently in production, reconciling data to production systems and ensuring accuracy in market values, book values, and income reporting post go-live.

Responsibilities include monthly and quarterly accounting deliverables for privately traded assets, oversight of Clearwater Analytics processing, and journal entry management into client general ledgers. The role also involves collaboration with the AB PCI Middle Market Loan team, review of accounting packages for various private alts products (e.g., Merger Arbitrage Fund, CLO Funds, Residential Mortgages, ECRED Fund, Private Placements), and documentation of SOX procedures.

Candidates should be comfortable with audit-heavy environments, understand GAAP standards, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining professional communication. Enthusiasm and clarity in communication are essential, as the role includes both onsite and remote collaboration, vendor interaction, and support for new product development and client-facing initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of Accounting experience
- CPA
- Ability to perform GAAP analysis and compliance
- Strong data handling skills, particularly with investment-related datasets received from servicers.
- Proficient in Excel functions such as macros, VLOOKUPs, and Power BI to analyze and drill down into complex data files, format accounting and mortgage loan data into transactions, etc.
- Local to Nashville, TN and open to 4 days onsite
