One of our clients is seeking a medical billing specialist to work on claims collections from insurance companies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- post claims to A/R as requirements are satisfied
- mark claims for adjustment as necessary
- resolve errors in Clearinghouse and ensure timely submission to payors
- print claims to paper and ensure timely mailing and reciept
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regular reporting, collections, and billing systems support
- change claims statuses in A/R based on regular review of 277 electronic status files and resolve errors
- reconcile payments posted to ensure accuracy with EOBs/ERAs
- ensure payment for prior-authorized charges
- download EOBs/ERAs form Clearinghouse and payor portals, match to deposits received and prepare for posting
- make claim corrections as necessary and follow SOPs to void and rebill claims
- enroll agency and electronic payor correspondence and checks, and route to appropriate client team for processing
- submit documentation for refunds as needed, follow up with payor until recoupment occurs
- backup/cross train to support A/P
- backup/cross train to support agency

- 3+ years of experience in medical / insurance billing
- A/P or A/R background preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Medical record experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite products
- Computer/Tech savvy
