Job Description

A Fortune 250 company and leading retailer and distributor of automotive parts in Memphis, TN is looking for a Director of Data management and Enterprise Architecture. This role is responsible for driving the overall enterprise data strategy and architecture, leading a multidisciplinary team (data architects, engineers, integration specialists, enterprise architects) to deliver scalable, high-quality data and analytics solutions. It combines technical leadership, strategic vision, and people management with strong business acumen.
Overall Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team of data architects, data engineers, integration engineers, and enterprise architects.
Oversee the review and analysis of complex data and technology requirements, guiding the prioritization and scoping of user stories to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and organizational capabilities.
Drive the end-to-end development, testing, and implementation of data and technology solutions, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon commitments.
Champion the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously advance the companies technology, data and analytics capabilities.
Lead the design and architecture of data and analytics solutions across project, product, and program levels, ensuring technical excellence and scalability.
Facilitate and contribute to both strategic and tactical technology discussions with executive stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
Foster consensus among stakeholders by providing clear technical leadership on strategy, vision, and implementation approaches.
Manage and monitor funding approvals and budget expenditures to support data and technology initiatives.
Ensure all solutions and features are designed and implemented in accordance with established architectural standards and practices, proactively facilitating trade-offs when necessary.
Conduct proactive capacity planning and monitoring of the data and analytics ecosystem to support and anticipate the companies growth.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors of Science degree required (MIS/CIS degree preferred).
Extensive knowledge of data analytics platform concepts and implementation for a retail environment.
Extensive working knowledge of various monitoring, operational, provisioning, performance, support environments and tools.
5+ y ears of experience in a Director Level Data role
Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics, including exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) modeling
Hands-on experience with configuration and tuning of major cloud platform data products
Strong business acumen and financial management skills
