Tactical (Strategic) role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating purchasing activities to fulfill orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in an assemble to order environment.
Plan, issue, and track orders and logistics needed to build chair orders according to forecast; including issue of purchase orders, arranging logistics, and/or expedite orders.
Effectively collaborate with suppliers and global strategic purchasing liaisons. Foster strong business relationships.
Manage parts orders to insure a 99+% service level for production parts and a 95% service level for service parts. Will be held accountable for maintaining supplier delivery performance to meet these metrics.
Manage domestic and international suppliers.
Set up and maintain parts and ordering parameters in an ERP system and be able to interpret Bills-of-Materials to ensure parameters are correct.
Maintain metrics of suppliers, cost and delivery performance.
Assist with inventory control analysis, including cycle counting and/or determining root cause for any inventory shrink as required.

A minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
ERP system experience.
Candidate will have a thorough knowledge of all purchasing techniques and related skills. With proven track record in a manufacturing company.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Must be self-motivated, demonstrate a sense of urgency and initiative, and work with minimum supervision.
Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office and MRP.
Candidate will collaborate with other buyer/planners, forecasting, logistics, and production management in a team environment.
Will need to manage multiple tasks and priorities, while quickly adapting to changing situations.
Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
