We are seeking a skilled Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Manager to monitor and document construction activities across various project sites. This role requires hands-on fieldwork and a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in at least two of the following inspection categories: Roadway, Bridges, Drainage, Erosion & Control, or Maintenance & Traffic. The CEI Inspector will be responsible for ensuring compliance with project specifications, submitting daily work reports, and collaborating with contractors and engineers. Candidates with a background in materials testing who are looking to transition into inspection are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, field-based role with opportunities for overtime (time and a half after 40 hours). The position may also involve ITS-related work (signals and fiber), and candidates with IMSA certifications are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex inspections on active construction sites
Submit detailed daily work reports
Interpret and explain construction plans and specifications
Monitor contractor compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Use software tools such as Microsoft Excel, SiteManager, and Bluebeam
Schedule & Compensation:
5 days/week, 10-hour shifts

6-10 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge inspection
o Proficiency in at least 2 of the 5 inspection categories: Roadway, Bridges, Drainage, Erosion & Control, Maintenance & Traffic
o Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
TDOT certifications in asphalt, concrete, or plant quality control
EPSC Certification (Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control)
OSHA 10 training
