Job Description

The Tax Assistant starts their day by reviewing and organizing tax documents, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded. They prepare federal, state, sales and use, and property tax returns, checking for any discrepancies. The Tax Assistant communicates with clients and team members, providing updates and clarifying any questions. They use Microsoft Word, Excel, and email to draft reports, manage spreadsheets, and correspond with stakeholders. Regularly, the Tax Assistant receives and enters property tax bills, processing check requests promptly. Attention to detail is crucial as they review financial data and ensure compliance with tax regulations. The Tax Assistant moves around the office intermittently to gather documents and collaborate with colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience

1+ Year of experience in bookkeeping
Proficiency in Word and Excel
High School Diploma

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience preparing tax returns: federal, state, sales and use, property, etc.
Experience entering property tax bills and processes check requests
