Insight Global's utility client is looking for a Remote Substation Physical Designer to sit in in EST/CST time zones. The designer will create detailed physical substation packages for various projects. This will include grounding layouts, control house layouts, conduit/cable schedules, general arrangements, switchgear design, conduit design, cable design, grounding calculations, etc. Additionally, they'll help with the creation of project scope, estimates, proposals, and schedules. They'll assist in the initial design phases of projects and see the designs through to the end of the project. They will utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for design deliverables. The types of projects will include greenfields, brownfields, retrofits, upgrades, etc. for all major projects.

- 6+ years of experience with physical substation design.
- A.A.S. in engineering or relevant
- Experience doing design for HV substations.
- Experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for design
