Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Controls Technician for a leading industrial automation and equipment manufacturing client. This individual will play a key role in the electrical assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and commissioning of highly sophisticated industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience reading electrical schematics, building control panels, and working with industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-million-dollar equipment projects while partnering closely with engineering and production teams. Most work will be performed at the Spartanburg facility, with occasional travel to support equipment installations and startups. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician looking to grow their expertise in automation, controls, and advanced manufacturing environments. Additional job responsibilities are below:
Wire and assemble electrical components for custom industrial equipment
Build and troubleshoot electrical control panels
Read and interpret electrical blueprints to ensure accurate machine assembly
Assist with machine startup, testing, and commissioning activities
Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related issues
Travel as needed to support equipment installation and startup activities in Cleveland, OH
Knowledge of Ethernet/IP communications
Experience with DeviceNet and EtherCAT networks

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of controls technician, industrial electrician, or machine build experience
Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics
Hands-on experience wiring industrial equipment and building electrical control panels

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

UL Certification
Exposure to PLC software and programming environments
