The Associate Engineer (OSP) primarily focuses on assisting the Senior Associate Engineer in planning and overseeing the construction and maintenance of external telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, conduits, and poles. Assist Senior Engineers with larger projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Quality control (QC) of all outside plant facilities throughout all stages of implementation. Utilizes knowledge of copper, fiber, and coaxial communications systems outside plant network design, and uses computer-aided design (CAD), ESRI, GIS mapping, and data collection to oversee.
Additionally, document all aspects of projects including construction, mapping coordination, budgets, material allocation, and work order close out.

-High School diploma or GED; prefer electrical degree or certificate
-A minimum of 2 years of on-hand outside plant (OSP) experience in the following areas:
· Permitting of buried and aerial facilities.
· Copper plant design.
· Long haul fiber sizing and design.
· FTTH design for both Greenfield and Brownfield subdivisions.
· Experience using CableCAD, ESRI ArcMap, or other design, drafting, or mapping software.
· Understanding of telecommunications network principles, including fiber optic technology, cable sizing, and network topology
· Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical challenges in the field
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform field inspections
-Clean driving record-valid drivers lisence
-Basic computer proficiency- outlook, mapping software they will have to reference
-Working knowledge of basic electricity
