Job Description

Provide supervision, leadership, and employee development to Accounting Staff
Perform all functions of payroll including quarterly and yearly reports, labor distribution and supporting schedules
Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts and variances
Manage banking relationships and treasury functions
Assist with annual financial audit
Prepare and/or supervise the filing of Federal, State, and Local fees as well as reporting to miscellaneous taxing agencies.
Maintaining a chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial reports
Assist the Controller in ensuring that necessary accounting controls and procedures are in place to protect the companys assets.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
5+ years of experience in accounting with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and familiarity with laws and regulations governing rural telephone company fiscal practices are preferred.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work with little or not supervision.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

CMA/CPA or MBS preferred.
