Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Remote Payments Specialist to join their team. This position is within the logistics division of a large energy company so in this role supports the freight payment team. The Freight Payment Team is responsible for managing and resolving carrier or third-party logistics provider invoice exceptions at applicable freight payment centers. This includes auditing, approving, or rejecting freight invoices using contract rates, terms and conditions, logistics databases, and other relevant information. The team supports manual cost coding and identifies common shipping lanes for default coding of shipments. Responsibilities also includes detecting overbilling and duplicate payments, and presenting cost-saving and productivity improvement opportunities. The team maintains carrier billing instructions, handles expedited payment requests, and collaborates with freight payment providers and carriers to enhance invoice quality. Manual invoice audits are conducted when necessary, and reporting and tracking are performed as agreed. Regular interaction with internal freight payment teams ensures smooth operations and issue resolution. This role is Monday-Friday ~7:30am-4:30pm with flexibility in the schedule. This is a growing company with room for growth in the role, so we're seeking a self-starter looking for a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years' experience working within payments and invoicing
- Ability to handle a high volume of invoices
- Extremely high attention to detail to audit invoices and data
- Critical thinking skills to analyze data and identify trends
- Strong customer service, communication skills, and ability to work independently
- Proficient in Outlook, and intermediate Excel background
- Reliable internet connection
