Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Manager to join their team in Schenectady, NY or Greenville, SC area (could potentially sit in another location, but must be EST). This role requires some travel within the US. The travel is not consistent, but the candidate should plan to travel about one week per month. International travel is not foreseen for this role. This role will lead the engineering execution of projects during the Order-to-Remittance (execution) phase, with a strong focus on Balance of Plant (BOP) scope within power generation projects. The Senior Project Engineering Manager acts as the technical leader responsible for developing scope, planning schedules, and overseeing engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects. This individual will manage matrixed engineering teams (typically up to 10 members) across global locations, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, risk mitigation, and delivery timelines. The role includes direct ownership of engineering deliverables, budget impact analysis, and technical issue resolution, while interfacing regularly with customers, EPCs, and internal stakeholders across design, sourcing, logistics, and project management. This position requires strong technical judgment, experience managing complex engineering scopes, and the ability to drive project execution, profitability, and compliance while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or related STEM field
• 6+ years of experience in engineering, project engineering, or power/energy industry roles
• Experience leading engineering execution for complex projects (multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams)
• Strong knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering principles within industrial or power systems
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and evaluating change impacts (cost/schedule)
• Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and stakeholders, serving as engineering lead during project execution
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Balance of Plant (BOP) systems in power generation projects
• Familiarity with power plant systems such as turbomachinery, generators, controls, or auxiliary equipment
• Prior experience working with global engineering teams or in a matrix organization
• Experience with engineering subcontractors, EPC environments, or vendor coordination
• Previous experience with large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
• Familiarity with internal engineering tools/systems used in large industrial organizations
