Job Description
The Mortgage Underwriter III will support Business-as-Usual (BAU) loss mitigation operations within U.S. This role is responsible for managing a pipeline of defaulted mortgage loans, performing underwriting decisioning, and generating borrower communications. The position is back-office only with no phone responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a pipeline of mortgage loans through loss mitigation underwriting decisioning
Analyze borrower financial documentation and determine appropriate workout solutions
Utilize Excel-based tools to track and manage loan activity
Prepare and issue borrower communications using Microsoft Word via regular mail and UPS
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant underwriting decisions
Collaborate with internal teams to support servicing operations
Handle and protect customer financial data in accordance with policy

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in a mortgage underwriting role
Strong background in default servicing / loss mitigation
Hands-on experience with Fiserv Sagent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage volume-driven work
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
