Job Description
A local church in Greenville, SC is seeking a Controller to oversee all financial operations for the church and its affiliated preschool.
The Controller will oversee all financial operations for the church and its affiliated preschool, including full ownership of payroll, accounts payable, and expense reimbursement processes. This role manages biweekly payroll for approximately 27 employees using ADP, including setting up new hires with federal and state tax documentation, benefits enrollment, and ongoing payroll maintenance. The Controller will ensure timely payment of recurring and discretionary expenses such as phone costs, teacher and classroom supplies, and departmental accounts. This individual will also communicate with parishioners regarding financial pledges and contributions and will need to maintain strict confidentiality as the sole individual with access to tithing and pledge records.
The ideal candidate will be a trusted financial professional who is deeply aligned with the values and beliefs of the Anglican Church of America and is comfortable working in a conservative, faith-based environment. Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
-Experience managing weekly or bi-weekly payroll using ADP or similar tool
-Comfortable working in a conservative, faith-based environment
