An Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) registered nurse plays a crucial role in the administration and management of ECT treatments. Here is a summary of the typical responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Job Summary
The ECT registered nurse is responsible for the clinical and operational management of the ECT clinic, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with national and local guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients psychologically and physically for ECT treatments.
Administer ECT treatments under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
Monitor patients vital signs before, during, and after the procedure.
Provide post-treatment care and support, ensuring patients safety and comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Accessing ports.
Insurance authorizations.
This position is M-F 7:30-4:00, no weekends, holidays or call!
Requirements:
Active RN license in the state of SC or compact
BLS
Some previous nursing experience
Plusses:
ACLS
Previous behavioral health experience
