Insight Global is hiring a position for a major Canadian Space Company. The Senior Digital Network Architect will be part of a team or lead a team of architects working on the design, implementation, and validation of the architecture solution of digital units implementing Broadband, direct-to-device or 5G networks in satellite constellations and other space-based systems.
Responsibilities
Lead the architecture design of digital units for space environment.
Convert systems/clients level requirements into a digital network design concept (architecture, I/Os, key parts, power dissipation estimate, FPGA, Software, etc.)
Coordinate with FPGA, software and test designers to finalize the functional concept and facilitate integration.
Identify technology and design risks.
Guide the team to achieve Design for Manufacture/Test in the space environment.
Prepare and review the various documents such as review presentations, design requirements, test plans, test procedures, etc.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and program managers.
Report progress and issues to the program lead or manager.

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent.
10+ years experience in network design
Telecommunication certificates, Masters or equivalent is an asset.
Team Leadership is a must
Experience with stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Background electronic
Excellent expertise in networking (Ethernet+TCP\IP+MPLS)
Expertise in RF radio communications (5G, DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2) is an asset
Experience with design architecture and handling of multi-disciplinary specifications and reviews (FPGA, software, mechanical, etc.).
Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Good understanding of FPGA design concepts
Ability to simplify the operation of complex systems and explain how these work
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex network issues.
Methodical, structured, capable of understanding and following complex design processes with multiple teams
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Effective communication skills, as this role requires explaining complex system
Good understanding of Embedded Software concepts, preferably using embedded Linux
