Job Description
The Senior Protection & Control Engineer works on T&D substations for AC, HVDC and FACTS projects with designers, peer engineers & leaders. The engineer is responsible to define, design, coordinate all technical aspects of protection & control of the project and oversee technical plant integration and optimization through use of Lean techniques at project level considering safety, quality, schedule and cost criteria. The engineer should have great attention to detail with a can-do attitude & high customer responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities
• Design one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, and relay settings.
• Develop panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and auxiliary system designs.
• Evaluate IED interoperability, SCADA integration, and IEC 61850 architecture.
• Coordinate with internal teams and customer technical reps.
• Review power system studies and relay coordination.
• Support testing, commissioning, and end-user training.
• Lead proposal development and support sourcing and technical validation.
Drive process improvements, RCA, and quality initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in protection schemes, relay selection, primary equipment requirements, operational analysis for both AIS & GIS substations
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
- Professional Engineering License in Quebec
- Bilingual in French
