Insight Global is seeking an OSP Design Engineer to support multi-utility construction company in the Manassas, VA area. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for someone looking to grow in the outside plant (OSP) design field. Youll split your time between field data collection and design work, contributing to the development of fiber optic routes and supporting permitting processes.
This position offers hands-on experience with utility coordination, route planning, and CAD collaboration, making it a great fit for early-career professionals eager to build a foundation in telecom infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to collect GPS data for fiber route design.
- Design aerial and underground utility paths using cost-effective construction methods.
- Coordinate with utility companies and agencies for permitting.
- Submit and track permit packages with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Collaborate with CAD teams to revise designs for permits and construction.
- Maintain project tracking using Excel spreadsheets.
Collect and submit as-built documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
- Must be able to distinguish safety colors and follow OSHA safety regulations.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).

- 03 years of experience in OSP design or related field (preferred, not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
