Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Cellular Biologist/Protein & Purification Scientist to join our Protein Biochemistry team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting virus generation, protein expression, and protein purification efforts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality protein reagents to our downstream partners in structural biology and screening. This position requires both the execution of established protocols and, depending on experience, the ability to troubleshoot complex protein preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute established protocols for baculovirus and bacmam virus generation, including accurate determination of virus titers.
- Maintain key insect and mammalian cell strains to support readiness for protein expression at scale.
- Cultivate E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells for recombinant protein expression, monitoring and adjusting cultures in accordance with standardized methodologies.
- Perform protein purification utilizing standard liquid chromatography techniques, and evaluate reagent quality using protein biochemistry methods including SDS-PAGE, LCMS, and LCMS/MS.
- Record, analyze, and manage experimental data using enterprise-level databases and analytical software tools to ensure data integrity.
- Document experimental procedures and outcomes with precision, adhering to laboratory and regulatory standards.
This is a 12 month engagement but most likely will go through 2027.

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline; a Master’s degree is a plus.
-Demonstrated expertise in recombinant protein expression and proficiency in aseptic techniques for cell culture.
-Liquid Chromatography Experience

Masters Degree
Experience with automation platforms and laboratory information management systems is an asset.
