Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Computational Histopathology Analyst for a top biopharma client. This individual will play a key role in advancing tissue biomarker discovery by developing and optimizing image analysis algorithms using cutting-edge digital pathology platforms. The role blends computational expertise with hands-on histopathology support, helping to drive innovation across both analytical and lab-based workflows. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative research environment, has strong experience in machine learning applied to histological data, and is passionate about leveraging technology to accelerate translational science.
Day-to-Day:
Develop, validate, and execute image analysis algorithms for tissue biomarker analysis
Optimize and maintain computational pathology pipelines
Work within commercial platforms (Halo AI, etc.) to generate quantitative insights from histological data
Support metadata ingestion workflows and ensure data quality/integrity
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate computational outputs into existing systems
Assist with wet lab histotechnology workflows when needed (microtomy, staining, scanning)
Participate in milestone tracking, validation phases, and performance evaluations
Ensure outputs meet standards for biomarker discovery and translational research

Required Skills & Experience
PhD (preferred) or Master’s minimum in a relevant field (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, pathology, biomedical engineering)
3+ years post-PhD experience (or equivalent advanced experience with Master’s)
Strong experience in computational histopathology / digital pathology
Proven ability to develop, validate, and execute image analysis algorithms
Experience building and optimizing computational pathology pipelines
Hands-on experience with machine learning applied to histological image data
Proficiency with at least one image analysis platform:
Halo AI (preferred)
Visiopharm, CellProfiler, Imaris, or QuPath
Experience ensuring data quality, metadata reconciliation, and data integrity
Ability to generate high-quality analytical outputs for biomarker discovery
Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional scientific teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience supporting histotechnology wet lab workflows:
Microtomy, tissue staining, slide scanning
Experience with advanced microscopy and whole-slide imaging
Familiarity with automated staining platforms:
Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond RX
Experience with image management systems (IMS) and metadata ingestion workflows
Background in biopharma or translational research environments
