Job Description

A large healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Active Directory Engineer to support a domain consolidation and migration, replicating two legacy domains into a centralized Active Directory environment. The project focuses on rebuilding and preparing the AD structure to enable a seamless migration of approximately 1,000 endpoints (500 per domain). This is a hands-on engineering role centered on upfront design and environment preparation ahead of a large-scale cutover.
Key Responsibilities
• Rebuild Active Directory structure in a centralized domain, including OUs and Group Policies
• Replicate and consolidate legacy domains (2 existing domains) into a single, standardized environment
• Evaluate and rationalize Group Policies — determine what should be retained, modified, or eliminated
• Perform upfront engineering and environment prep ahead of migration
• Partner with teams handling execution (SCCM / scripting) to ensure environments are ready for cutover
• Support endpoint transition strategy, including preparation for ~1,000 device domain migration
• Help define the process for “flipping” devices to the new domain structure
• Work within highly privileged access environments while maintaining security best practices
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across IT and leadership
