Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Data Governance Implementation Specialist to drive the implementation and operationalization of a company-wide data governance program. The team is transforming how the organization sources, manages, and utilizes data to drive business growth and optimize the product lifecycle. This individual will lead the implementation of the data governance program, interface with business units, data stewards, and domain owners to define strategy, draft policies, and embed governance practices. The position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on execution capabilities and a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, compliance standards, and stakeholder engagement.

• Own and drive the creation and rollout of enterprise‑wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures
• Manage data lineage, data lifecycle, ETL processes, and metadata practices to improve data visibility, traceability, and transparency
• Ensure data practices align with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA), industry standards (FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001), and zero‑trust principles
• Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to identify data issues, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
• Define and monitor data quality metrics and KPIs to continuously assess and improve data quality
• Evaluate, implement, and support data governance tools and technologies used across the organization
• Stay current on emerging data governance trends, tools, and best practices
• Perform regular data audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance or governance risks
• Develop and deliver training to educate teams on data governance standards and best practices
• Proactively identify and mitigate data governance risks, ensuring sensitive data is properly protected

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide data governance programs
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or a closely related discipline
• Hands‑on experience with data catalog tools such as Alation (or similar), including data lineage, cataloging, metadata management, and data security
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, principles, and industry best practices
• Working knowledge of data privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and CCPA
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or a related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA CDMP)
• Extensive experience with governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, Manta
