Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a VP of HR for our client. The Vice President of Human Resources is a senior executive leader responsible for building, modernizing, and scaling the HR function for a mission‑driven, multi‑site nonprofit organization operating across multiple counties in Pennsylvania.
This role is designed as a strategic builder, not a transactional HR leader. The VP of HR will focus on enterprise people strategy, organizational design, leadership development, and scalable HR infrastructure, while empowering the HR team to manage day‑to‑day execution.
Reporting directly to the C-Suite, this leader will partner with the executive team to ensure the organization’s workforce strategy supports long‑term growth, operational stability, and mission impact.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and execute a long‑term HR and people strategy aligned with organizational growth and mission.
• Build scalable HR operating models for a distributed, multi‑site workforce.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, org design, succession, and change management.
• Establish enterprise‑wide HR governance, policies, and leadership accountability frameworks.
• Lead leadership development and management capability initiatives across locations.
• Oversee HR compliance and risk management in a regulated environment.
• Provide executive oversight of HR operations, payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
• Establish workforce analytics, dashboards, and KPIs to support executive decision‑making.
• Act as an escalation point for complex employee relations issues (without managing daily ER).

Day to Day
• Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic workforce and leadership priorities.
• Review HR metrics related to turnover, vacancies, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
• Meet with senior leaders and site leadership to align on organizational design and talent needs.
• Guide HR leaders on policy consistency, compliance posture, and risk mitigation.
• Evaluate and improve HR systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
• Sponsor leadership development initiatives and culture‑building efforts.
• Support organizational change initiatives tied to growth, funding, or operational shifts.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in complex or multi‑site organizations.
• Proven experience building or transforming HR functions, not just maintaining them.
• Strong expertise in organizational design, leadership development, and workforce strategy.
• Executive‑level communication and influencing skills.
• Deep understanding of HR governance, compliance, and risk oversight.
- Ability to lead through others rather than owning day‑to‑day execution.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
• Experience supporting organizations with public or grant‑based funding models.
• SPHR or SHRM‑SCP certification.
• Background leading HR through periods of growth, expansion, or organizational change.
- Experience implementing or optimizing HRIS and payroll platforms.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
